Prerow island port

An emergency and staging port between Warnemünde and Barhöft

The island harbor off Prerow replaces the former Darßer Ort emergency harbor in the Western Pomerania Lagoon National Park. At the head of the 720-metre-long seabridge, it offers space for boats belonging to the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS), the DLRG, local commercial fishermen, a passenger ship jetty and 33 emergency and staging berths for sports boats.

Due to its limited capacity, it does not complement the network of marinas. The harbour allows a short stopover on the long distance between Warnemünde and Barhöft, Stralsund and the island of Rügen. The maximum utilisation time for temporary berths is 24 hours. The island harbour must be vacated by 12 noon each day at the latest.

The seabridge is part of the harbour area.

The harbour was built by the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with funding from the European Regional Development Fund. The Western Pomerania National Park Authority manages the harbour operations and acts as the port authority.

The port usage regulations govern all details regarding the use of the harbor and the pier.
